Why we built DemoPost
DemoPost started from our own need: while testing applications we had to work with several user roles at once, and the emails, text messages and documents that belonged to them ended up scattered across mailboxes and phones. We wanted one overview.
The problem we kept running into
Testing an application properly means being more than one person. An owner, an invited member, a customer, a billing contact. Every one of them receives something — a confirmation, an invitation, an invoice with a PDF, a reminder. Getting those messages somewhere you could actually look at them meant creating mailboxes, borrowing colleagues' addresses or routing everything to a personal inbox that was already full.
And when a demo came up, the same problem returned in a worse form: you either showed a screenshot of an email, or you opened a mailbox in front of a customer.
The approach
We chose the smallest thing that solved it. One private workspace, one receiving prefix, and free-form references after a plus sign so each test user has a distinct address. No agents, no code to install, no changes to how your application sends: DemoPost simply receives what is addressed to it and shows it to you, attachments and all.
Automatic cleanup after 30 days came from the same instinct — a test inbox that grows forever becomes another thing to manage.
Who it is for
Developers, testers, consultants and people who demo software: anyone who has to check the receiving side of a message flow by hand, or show it to somebody else. It is deliberately a manual inspection tool. If you need automated assertions in a pipeline, DemoPost is not that product.
What we are not claiming
Honest scope
- No automated test assertions and no CI/CD integration.
- No team invitations on the current plan — a workspace belongs to one account.
- No deliverability or inbox-placement guarantees, and no compliance certifications.
- Incoming SMS is a paid add-on with automatic activation — your number is provisioned straight away.
- DemoPost receives messages addressed to it; it does not intercept everything your application sends.
