Incoming SMS testing for application demos

You activate SMS from inside your DemoPost account in three steps: choose Belgium or the United States and enter your details, pay €20 per month on the same subscription and invoice, and your number is activated straight away. There is no manual approval and no waiting — the number is provisioned automatically, and if no number can be delivered your payment is refunded in full. Once the number is active, you use it as the phone number of a test user in your application, exactly as you would use a DemoPost email address for mail.

Incoming messages are routed into your private workspace and appear alongside email, so a demo that mixes both channels stays in one screen.

The add-on includes 250 incoming SMS segments per billing period. A short message is one segment; longer messages, or messages containing characters outside the standard GSM set such as emoji, are split into several segments by the mobile network. A long notification can therefore consume two or three segments from your allowance.

• The message arrives at the dedicated number you configured for the test user.
• Sender ID or originating number is what you expect for that environment.
• The text is complete and not truncated by a segment boundary.
• Any code, reference or link in the message matches the record you created.
• Links point at the correct environment and open on mobile.
• Repeating the flow does not generate a burst of duplicate messages.
