Show real emails during your software demo
The moment that convinces a prospect is rarely the form — it is the message their customer would receive. With a DemoPost address on your demo account you can trigger the flow live and open the delivered email, attachment included, in the same browser window as the product.
Before the demo
- 1Create a demo account in your product with a DemoPost address such as yourapp+demo@in.demopost.net, using a synthetic customer name.
- 2Run the full flow once, end to end, the day before. Confirm the message arrives and the attachment opens.
- 3Clear out old test messages so the inbox you show contains only today's story.
- 4Open your DemoPost workspace in a second browser tab — not a second window you have to hunt for.
- 5Have a fallback ready: a screenshot of yesterday's successful run, in case the venue's network fails you.
A demo script that holds attention
1. Do the action in the product
Place the order, approve the quote, send the invoice — whatever your audience recognises from their own work. Narrate what the customer would experience.
2. Switch to the inbox tab
The message is usually already there. If it is not, press refresh once and keep talking; the refresh button exists precisely for this moment.
3. Read the message out loud
Point at the details that matter to the audience: the reference number, the tone of the copy, the amount, the call to action.
4. Open the attachment
Previewing the PDF is the part people remember, because it proves the document exists and looks right rather than being promised on a slide.
What the audience sees
This illustration uses the same layout with synthetic data. Switch between the scenarios to see how a reference keeps each message identifiable.
Welcome to Northwind Studio — confirm your account

Hi Robin Sample, thanks for creating an account.
Confirm your email address to activate the workspace. The confirmation link opens in the application you are testing.
If you did not request this, you can ignore the message.
Presentation tips
- Use one reference per demo scenario, so you never scroll past three near-identical messages.
- Increase your browser zoom before you start; email text is small on a projector.
- Never open a mailbox that also contains your own mail.
- Use synthetic names, amounts and documents — a demo is not the place for a real customer record.
- Keep the story short: trigger, arrive, open, done.
Afterwards
Delete the messages you no longer need; anything left is removed automatically after 30 days. If you demo the same flow weekly, keep the demo account and the reference stable so your script never changes.
What DemoPost does not do
- DemoPost shows what your application produced; it does not prove the same message would reach a prospect's corporate inbox.
- Incoming SMS in a demo requires the paid add-on, which is activated automatically and is not part of the trial.
- There is no shared team access on the current plan — the workspace belongs to one account.
